Position: HOPE is seeking an experienced performance contract manager to oversee employment services for HOPE's job training and employment programs. The Assistant Director oversees a team of five Employment Specialists, manages a caseload of students and connects 400 program graduates each year to new and better jobs. The team cultivates opportunities that build upon a combination of student interest, growth potential, and training relevance so that graduates achieve sustainable futures in line with HOPE's mission. The Assistant Director position reports to the Director of Employment and Graduate Services. The position will be based at both HOPE's location, Downtown Brooklyn and the South Bronx.
Responsibilities:
Job Placement Services :
- Partnering with the Director of Employment and Graduate Services, ensures all departmental goals are met.
- Lead the team in connecting 400+ program graduates to quality jobs each year.
- Manage a caseload of 30 students.
- Support and meet retention milestones for new hires within their first month of employment.
- Support the team in delivering and monitoring Phase 2 service model that includes one-on-one support for all students. Management and Programmatic Support
Manage five Employment Specialists in meeting contract goals:
- Develop customized job search plan to be executed in all programs.
- Develop learning strategies to become subject matter expert in working with young people.
- Regularly identify student, graduate, and employer ambassadors to share their experience with HOPE at various events and site visits.
- Stay current with policy and programs in the education and workforce development field.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct quality assurance to ensure minimum services are being delivered and data is accurate and properly recorded and codify best practices in the Program Operating Guide.
- Ensure that required data and deliverables are gathered and maintained for all funding partners.
- Help fosters a student-centered culture and a practice among the team of continuous improvement and strengthened alignment across teams that supports and achieves HOPE's strategic priorities, and
- Other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong personnel management and leadership experience with at least three years of managing a team of three or more in a performance based contract environment.
- Strong team building and management skills. Demonstrated ability to meet program goals. (This position is measured against placement rate).
- Experience in managing a caseload of clients for a performance contract.
- Exceptional communications and interpersonal skills, the ability to build trusting, productive relationships with a wide range of partners and stakeholders.
- Problem solver, flexible and adaptable.
- Demonstrated experience soliciting customer feedback and using it to adjust programming.
- Experience in building, documenting and implementing processes.
- Strong digital skill, experience with CRM for reporting preferred.
- Enthusiasm about being part of a high-impact, growing organization.
- Associates degree and/or a 5 years of demonstrated field experience in workforce development.
Salary/Benefits: Salary is dependent upon experience. HOPE provides a full package of benefits including: healthcare and dental insurance; retirement plan; competitive vacation (plus 1/2 day Fridays during summer which is equal to 7.5 additional vacation days); and 12 paid holidays.
